Grimsby Power Rates Effective January 1, 2024

Posted January 11th, 2024

On August 17, 2023, Grimsby Power filed an IRM application with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to change rates effective January 1, 2024.

An IRM application is a mechanistic adjustment to distribution rates based on inflation and the OEB’s assessment of the distributor’s efficiency. Inserting these components into a formula result in a 4.80% increase to Grimsby Power’s distribution rates.

The OEB issued its decision on the application on December 14, 2023. Based on the Decision, a residential customer consuming 750 kWh will have a total monthly bill increase of approximately $2.11 after taxes and the Ontario Electricity Rebate, effective January 1, 2024.
